HaramShield is designed to help you maintain a halal digital environment. We prioritize your privacy by ensuring that sensitive content analysis happens locally on your device. We do not spy, record, or upload your screen.

Where does your data go?

Transparency is our core value. Unlike many apps that process data in the cloud, HaramShield operates entirely on your device's hardware for content filtering.

  • ✓ Local Processing: Image analysis occurs on your phone.
  • ✓ RAM Only: Screen images are discarded immediately after analysis.
  • ✓ No Cloud Uploads: We do not send screenshots to servers.

Specific Disclosure: How We Use It
  • 1. Banking App Detection: We detect when a banking app is open to pause functionality. This prevents interference with your financial transactions.
  • 2. Content Analysis: To identify if sensitive imagery is on screen to apply a blur.
What We NEVER Do
  • Change user settings without permission.
  • Prevent disabling/uninstalling the app.
  • Work around Android privacy controls.
  • Deceptively change the user interface.

Media Projection

Used solely for local screen scanning.

Specific Disclosure: How We Use It

We use Media Projection solely to scan the screen locally for sensitive content.

  • Real-time Analysis: Captures screen frame > Analyzes via on-device AI > Applies Blur.
  • Instant Discard: Data is removed from RAM immediately after processing.
Strict Limitations
  • No Recording: We do not save video or screenshots.
  • No Transmission: No screen data is sent to external servers.

Non-Personal Data

To improve app stability, we collect aggregated, non-identifiable data such as:

  • Crash Logs
  • Performance Metrics

This data cannot be used to personally identify you.

Children's Privacy

HaramShield is a safety tool for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect PII from children under 13.

If we discover data from a child under 13, it is immediately deleted. Parents may contact us for removal requests.
